plasma tv shelf life

Well, that's the question that many consumers like themselves. I am making a large purchase, I want to have a wide screen or a traditional aspect screen. Here are some things to consider when choosing to buy a widescreen HDTV, a traditional aspect HDTV or regular TV.

Old Analog TVs versus HDTV. Old TV era are analog televisions that have a built-in digital receiver. In February 2009, all television stations will be required to broadcast in digital. This means analog televisions without digital tuners will be unusable unless they are connected to satellite or cable. These are not a good option to buy. Move down along the line of HD-enabled TVs. Luckily, all television equipment sold after May 25, 2007 must contain a tuner or digital or be identified at the point of sale as not having one.

LCD or plasma. HDTV comes in several types that can substantially affect the price. The crystal display display (LCD) HDTV dominates the consumer market in size small to medium size and is usually cheaper. Models of plasma televisions dominates the consumer market large models. This consideration is generally not an issue when deciding between a wide screen and a traditional look. What is a consideration is the expectation of life and cost. The area has more widescreen visuals that can "burn".

Plan Panel Television versus Rear / Front Projection Television. Projects are HDTV plasma or LCD are generally found in flat panel design. However, you can still find rear projection and front projection HDTVs sold systems for home theater. In general, a wide-screen version which greatly increases the requirements for the room size, restrictions on the total weight of the shelf and mobile are your overall consideration In making this selection. Unless you have a dedicated home theater room and plan to never move again is usually suggested to stay away from rear or front projection wide-screen television.

Widescreen for TV broadcasts and movies. More than 90 percent of all emissions are in traditional aspect. Most are not in widescreen format or that have been pre-formatted from the station to suit traditional aspects. If you watch mainly television regularly and do not usually use a service provider that has widescreen broadcasts or movies using widescreen aspects, widescreen, then is not for you.

Using your Widescreen for gaming. The beauty of the chain have a widescreen for computer games is the ability to use the option screen divided into many different games without feeling crushed. This is especially true on many First Person Shooter games. If you are an avid gamer, a widescreen HDTV will only improve your gaming experience.

Using your HDTV for Work. Here is another example of where the widescreen really can help the consumer. Some HDTVs are able to accept the entry of computers and can be used as a monitor for your work. Often you can have two or three documents on your desktop and view them much easier with a widescreen display, a traditional look. If you use your HDTV, television and a monitor, here is where it can pay in several ways.

For most consumers, the widescreen TVs are the way to go with very little downside. Unless you are just watching comedies or are creating a home theater in a small confined space, they are the most versatile aspect. You can watch both the traditional aspect and get the full widescreen on the same set of equipment. They are more useful than traditional aspect HDTVs as they can provide more working space and even a better experience game.
