There is much difference in image quality or preformance between Pioneer Elite 1130 and Elite 1140?
I'm in the process of buying a 50-inch plasma and has narrowed it down to the Pioneer Elite 1140 or 1130. I know that 1140 is the newest model and usually the latest model should have a better view or quality. My only Hung Up is the fact that the 1130 comes with a separate tuner, which I was told can be an advantage because you have to have only one cable connected from the TV tuner. In his opinion, that despite the upgrade to the newer model? Your opinion is greatly appreciated.
I have a Pioneer PDP-4330 HD, which has an external media box and not just have one cable goes to the display it has the power cable and two cables from the media box goes to the display. I just bought the 1140 elite and only has the power supply and a cable box, cable TV goes to the display and one less box to deal with (no media box). Also you can get rid of the cable box with this unit, if you get a cable card from your cable company and insert it into the slot on the back of the screen and just run the cable coaxail direct to the screen. The only disadvantage is that you can not use any interactive function that can provide cable with a box, such as video on demand or pay per view. The unit also has a lot of new ports, such as a LAN port, USB port, Ethernet port and hook the PC. The picture quality seemed sharper than the 1130 in store, but it could, was the way it was calibrated. Personally I perferred to 1140 for all future possibilities that have more the price difference was not much if at all.
