Plasma TV's: unstable and difficult to calibrate?
I found this much in a plasma TV Vizio 42 "at Circuit City. When I buy it, I have a huge sales pitch guy who finally translated to me the need to spend an extra $ 500 (or more). Here are some of the things he said: 1) Plasma TV's are unstable during the first 5 years. If nothing goes wrong at the time, which should last a total of about 30 years. (He said this hoping to sell me service plan for 5 years.) 2) Without proper calibration by an expert or someone who knows about "deeper menu", the TV transition not so with normal viewing and DVD viewing or video game. (He wanted me to buy the game at home-business-up.) 3) Even packed in their original boxes, Plasma TV can not be laid flat for transit – have to stand. (He wanted me to have the TV delivered on his truck, instead of transport in my car.) Is there any truth? Or was I just fed a bunch of crap that he could make more money on commission?
First attempt and stay away from the plasma tv. It will not last. The gas inside will burn over time, and they run really hot shorting the life of the TV. If you buy him the only thing I recommend is to get the extended warranty. Unless you plan on hanging on the wall installation is not required. I carry them every day and always put them down. I would not recommend doing it for a long time. If you take straight home, you'll be fine. They make more money with the accessories that TV. You do not need a technician to go deeper into the system to configure it.
