They are not essential to life, they are optional luxuries. Talk about the cookbooks, and moving the data (nothing new to the laboratory). And this man wants to be PM! I think it should include the costs of taxes, rent, water and fuel, so urgent, to reflect the low-income pensioners and truth. What do you think?
You're absolutely right, and does not include gasoline either. But here's the rub. He did not set the interest rate directly, but he shook his measure of inflation, as you have noted, thus indirectly he does not control the rate of interest, because the Bank of England set interest rates to stay within the inflation target governments. The inflation rate was artificially pressed, therefore, as a consequence, so have interest rates. This policy of low interest rates led to credit card and mortgage debt massive leading to a bubble in housing prices, and an economy that has been artificially inflated.
