Specifications: Since its launch, the PN42B450 Samsung 42-inch plasma HDTV has been on top of the charts of best-sellers. After testing it for a couple of days, is easy to see why (a low price also helps). This model is 790p HD model where your display has a resolution of 1024 x 768. For your sound system, it uses SRS TruSurround HD technology and has 20 watts of audio power. In terms of connectivity, the PN42B450 comes with 3 HDMI ports, two video ports component, a USB connector and a couple more standard. It is also very energy efficient as is the Energy Star.
Design: The PN42B450 Samsung has a staff of almost all black and shiny post. At the bottom frame (below the screen), there is a strip of dark red, which creates a nice accent to your look general. It measures 41.7 x 28.4 cm x12.4 in size and weighs 61.3 pounds. Most ports are located on the back of the unit. There are also several connectors (such as an HDMI port and composite AV input) located at the side of the HDTV.
Characteristics and Performance: Although the Samsung is PN42B450 a plasma 720p, in our tests, the video playback was much better than many 1080p LCD HDTVs on the market. The black levels were very deep and the colors were accurate. We test 'Transformers' (Blu-ray) and the images were impressive. Fast-action sequences was smooth and almost flawless, thanks to its 0.001ms response time. I use to think that Panasonic plasma TV and Pioneer are the best on the market, but now it seems that the PN42B450 Samsung (along with another model and PN50B450 in their series) will give these giants a good run for their money. On top of this model currently costs around $ 680 a piece (with free shipping) becoming an unbelievable deal. There are very few HDTVs (42 ") on the market that are selling below the mark of $ 900.
