Does an S-video cable to add a sharper picture than my tv regular component cables?
My TV is a 50 "Samsung HD Plasma. It 720p. I have cable through the Dish Network but do not want to pay for HD service. I know I can not get HD without a subscription service, I just want sharper than the component cables are offering.
Component cables will give you a better picture of the S-video, to stay with them. The 50 "TV HD viewing a standard definition image is going to look a little funky, due to the conversion resolution. This is only magnified on a screen so large as 50 ". Unless you are willing to pay for HD service, you will have to deal with it.
