Customers leasing company-owned stores that are looking to buy or rent a flat screen TV, often ask what is better – LCD or plasma TV? Response to this question is that all depends. For the client to make the right decision about which is better, several important considerations should be taken into account. To begin, the client should consider that the two types look better. This means that the screen image looks better, and also what kind of structure fits the scheme of furniture ones. Another consideration is that the light conditions in the viewing environment can cause glare or make the image hard to see. Similarly the angle of view should be taken into account – if the client will see the screen straight-on, or sideways. Another consideration is whether the computer programs or games like Sony Playstation or Nintendo Wii will appear on the screen. Another question to ask is whether the customer will be watching mainly sports, movies or video games. The client has to consider the size of the screen that he or she prefers, and how much money he or she is willing to spend.

The plasma and LCD TV offered by the industry of rent to own both measure about four inches deep and so both can be regarded as TV's flat panel. However, the two types of technology use very different, in order to create an image. In an LCD is a matrix composed of thin transistors that supply voltage to the cells of liquid crystal film between two sheets of glass. These liquid crystals open and close in response to an electric charge, and this action filters the white light from a lamp located behind the screen, blocking certain wavelengths of light to produce specific colors. The vibrant colors of LCD panels is due to the intense light that shines through the banks of liquid crystals. Plasma screens, on the other hand, composed of thousands of pixels that allow electrical impulses to excite the neon and xenon. Pixels are basically tiny light bulbs fluorescent on a black background that receive impulses from the TV signal. The pixels glow when excited, which produces light. Matches red, blue and green pixels in the mixture to compensate all the spectrum of colors visible on the screen.

Although screen plasma TV has a higher contrast and deeper levels of black, LCD screens are getting better all the time, and a layer of various types of LCD screens currently perform nearly as well as the plasma screens. In addition, a plasma screen is capable of producing more than 16,000,000 colors, and plasma screens have traditionally shown greater precision color LCD. But the newer LCD screens are almost up to plasma screens in the fidelity color reproduction and, consequently, as a wise are equivalent business opportunity rent to own. As LCD screens are so bright and not as bright as plasma displays, LCD performance beats the plasma in bright rooms. Plasma screens on the other hand perform better than LCD when viewed at an angle although the newer LCD screens are almost as good as plasma displays in this department and the LCD technology is closing the gap.

If the screen will be used in conjunction with a computer, LCD is clearly the best choice. On the other hand, if the client can use it mainly for sports, video games, or any programs involving rapid movement, so it looks better than plasma display. When it comes to the issue price of screens 42 inches or larger (plasma is not used in screens minors), then plasma is clearly less expensive per inch LCD.

Thus both plasma and LCD are viable rent to own industry options. Customers of rent to own stores have to carefully consider their own particular needs and viewing conditions to make a wise choice. Both plasma and LCD have their pros and cons which can make either type the best rent to own business opportunity in an individual case.
