Turning on the stereo receiver to plasma TV and hear the sound?
I bought a Panasonic TCP50X1 and have it mounted on the wall. I have 4 speakers in the ceiling and want to know what is the best way to connect to a Pioneer Receiver VSX519V speakers and how to get the sound out of it. I need to know what the TV for you and how to configure the receiver to 4 speakers.
To receive TV audio to Pioneer connect a coaxial digital audio from the digital audio output on TV digitial to the audio input of the receiver. This requires an optical audio cable. 4 Connect speakers to the terminals ceiling speaker in the back of the Pioneer (front speaker left wire connects to the terminal front left speaker Pioneer, front right to front right, rear left to rear left, rear right to rear right. You should definitely buy a speaker for the center channel below the TV mount and connect the Pioneer too. The center channel contains the dialogue and is the main speaker a home theater. If you do not want to use a speaker's center channel, you need to put the Pioneer in ghost mode the center channel for dialogue that sends left and right speakers instead of the center channel – despite having speakers on the ceiling, this is not a good solution, because the dialogue will sound like it's coming from the ceiling, instead of the screen. Speakers from the ceiling will be good for everything except a center channel – that really should be mounted as close to the television. That should do the trick. If you're not getting sound to the receiver, then check the sound options on the TV to ensure that the digital audio output is on. Also make sure that the receiver is set to the digital audio input.
