Plasma TV 52 inch phillips?
I turned the TV from the real on and off the TV as I was leaving, I heard a pop that sounded like a gun out. When I turned the blue light went on to say the TV was on, but there was no image. Has anyone had this problem with a 52-inch plasma phillips? I was told one of the lamps merged, if someone had the same problem could you please tell me if this is the fix? I have a repair person coming tomorrow, but I would like to know what to expect. And if you have experienced this problem is something that I should expect that frequency? I had the tv almost 3 years.
Plasma lamps are not so there is. Typically, a pop-charge as you heard, a capacitor blew up. They sound like fireworks when they explode. We used wire them back to get them out. I'm not suggesting that anyone do that! There are large caps in the power supply of a plasma so my guess is that was one of them and will to be replaced. Hopefully it was just a cap of poor quality and not something else (like the processor).
