I defiantly get a guarantee to buy my new TV?
CRT had my Samsung for almost 8 years and never had any problems. wonder how reliable tv is new? (LCD's and plasmas) are as susceptible Plasma and LCD to break. ie dead pixels? black fading? etc
There is only one hand full of TV manufacturers confidence now. Sony (recently voted as most trusted by the consumer), Samsung, Panasonic, LG and Pioneer are currently in this rate! All other marks may be taking a risk with … especially brands that no one heard off! Not LCD or plasma are more susceptible to breakage than the other! Some people think otherwise, but they are wrong! It all boils down to the law of averages. Both types of holding their black (or contrast) to approximately the same amount of time, between 60,000 to 100,000 hours. Some cheap LCD's do have problems with dead pixels or arrested, but not so much a problem with high quality models, while the screen is not damaged. Most TV manufacturers provide a 1 year warranty for your TV, which is long enough to eliminate the "Lemons'! In However, 1 year is not long. He is very fast and a lot of problem shows are free for the first year or two. And seeing how much these TV's, I sure to purchase an extended warranty of 5 years with my new HDTV because I like to know what's there and have that piece of mind … just in case! I definitely recommend get an extended warranty with your TV … especially if your paying $ 800 or more for it!
