How much better is LCD / Plasma vs DLP?
I'm buying a TV next week and have done much research, but I'm still not sure the great difference between the two new technologies versus old DLP? DLP is best not worried about having a flat screen?
It really depends on your definition of best. As far as picture, contrast, brightness, clarity, and the angle of vision will, LCD and plasma have an advantage over the DLP. As far as the price inch and longivity, DLP takes the cake. The bulb backlight DLP has a lifespan of 80,000 hours that can be replaced for about $ 200 dollars (about bulbs can only be changed by a technician, however, this varies between models, but some can be changed by you) in comparison with a plasma using gases (phosphorus), instead of a lamp. The life of these matches is about 60,000 hours and can not be replaced. In my opinion, I happen to favor the DLP. You really do not seem to lose clarity in my opinion. It seems as good as plasma or LCD and paying a few hundred dollars to replace the lamp in DLP, as opposed to spending over a grand to replace the plasma TV all sounds very good to me.
