Nvidia HDMI audio?

I am creating a Media Center PC. I wonder if there are good Nvidia graphics cards out there that deal with HDMI. not just the video … but HDMI video and audio from the same card and the same cable. I want a card that can show my work in Windows on my HD TV. I have a plasma HDTV Panasonic Viera .. but I'm not sure what the resolution … any advice would be good

There are various HDMI-equipped video cards support the lower bitrate, multi-channel, 'legacy' audio formats via an S / PDIF on the video card. However I am not aware of any NVIDIA single-card 'of high-definition audio' / HD video solutions for a home theater PC, at present. (Note: ATI claims that its Radeon ™ HD 4800 Series GPUs incorporate a controller integrated HD audio, which together with its ATI Avivo ™ HD Video and Display Platform, provides limited support for multi-channel (up to 7.1) HD audio formats such as DTS-HD and Dolby True-HD via HDMI, the maximum bandwidth supported audio stream is 6.144 Mbps. Hopefully solutions increased bandwidth will be offered in the near future.) Assembly of high quality, home theater, high-performance personal computer (HTPC) is rather simple if you confined to the lower bitrate, multi-channel, 'legacy' formats of compressed audio such as Dolby Digital (AC-3), DTS Digital Surround, etc., which are easily transmitted through the common IEC 60958 audio interface of type II, ie, optical (TOSLINK) or coaxial S / PDIF. If now you want to take the new, higher bit-rate, multi-channel compression formats for audio such as Dolby TrueHD and Dolby Digital Plus and Dolby and DTS-HD Master Audio and DTS-HD High Resolution Audio DTS, you will face a bit of an uphill battle (largely thanks to the persistent questions DRM) If you want to use HDMI as your main interface to a PC home theater. But I certainly recommend the installation of a home theater PC in order to use the HDMI for both HD audio and video 'HD', but you will to do some additional work. NVIDIA addition to using one of many HDMI-equipped-powered video cards that you also need to buy one of the new sound cards HDMI, which are selling for about U.S. $ 250, as HDAV1.3 ASUS Xonar or Auzen X-Fi HomeTheater 7.1. You will also need software (and / or an operating system) which supports the Blu-ray Disc format and the highest bit rate, multi-channel format of audio compression systems including DRM copy protection, such as HDCP and AACS, and protected environment (PE), technologies such as Protected Media Path (PMP) and protected Audio Path (PAP), along with full compliance of the driver. For more details please use the resources below that I started with the HTPC related articles and discussion forum. Keep in mind that some of the items are a little dated as for the market for HTPC rapidly changing, which is a discussion forum where you should help. In conjunction with various computer enthusiast Web sites such as AnandTech X-bit Labs (Tom's Hardware) Guide, Ars Technica, [H] ard | OCP, ExtremeTech, SPCR (SilentPCReview) and Maximum PC, etc., the use of NVIDIA nZone would be a good place to start your search for an HDMI-equipped, NVIDIA-powered graphics card. When possible, it is usually best to match the resolution of the video source material with a native resolution of the monitor (or vice versa) If you want to minimize (unnecessary) video and image processing. In other words, if you use is predominantly a 720p then 720p native display may be more appropriate for your application, despite a display of 1080p video with above average and image processing is acceptable. However, if you're strongly committed to 1080i / p content so I hope you have a "Full HD" 1080p (preferably with a 1:1 pixel mapping option.) Good luck! ######################## ################### RESOURCES ##### "Hi-Def Audio on a PC?"
