When confronted with the need to buy a new television, one of the first questions that may come to mind is: "If I buy an LCD TV?" There pros and cons of this decision, including issues of size, clarity, space and longevity of the product. Can I use it with my current auxiliary devices, as my CD player and VCR?
Exactly what is an LCD TV? LCD means Liquid Crystal Display. This is the same technology that has been used for some time for the camera screens and mobile phones. It consists of two panes of glass as material, which are glued. A layer is coated with a special polymer that contains the liquid crystals. An electric current runs through the crystals that can turn dark or allow the passage of light, thus creating the image.
Unlike between LCD and plasma is not readily apparent. They look very similar, but the use of completely different technology. A plasma TV is made of cells that were injected with a gas called neon-xenon. When electricity is applied to the cell, red, green and blue phosphors are hit. Each of them is called a pixel, and that together make up the image.
Until recently, LCD TV was more popular in smaller televisions. This is partly because the technology has caused the prices the larger screens to be much more expensive than the smaller sets. However, technology is constantly improving and there is now less of a price difference, making the big screen more games available for the average consumer.
Many consumers want to know if can use your LCD TV as a computer monitor. Most of them may be due to the fact that LCD TVs are a consequence of the LCD monitor. Most TVs have the VGA connections needed to be integrated into a PC. Players like to integrate your PC and game systems, in order to have a big screen to play your games.
You can have more auxiliary devices as a VCR, and wonder if they are compatible with LCD TVs. They will work together, since most TVs have connections standard AV. However, a VHS tape, with its lower resolution and lower quality of color, will not be as good on an LCD as it did on an analog television smaller.
Although LCD TV's internal speakers, many buyers prefer to integrate your TV with a home theater system for the best all-around experience. Decide ahead of time in which you want to put the new TV to buy a stand or cabinet. Make sure you have the correct cables and a protective device outbreaks to protect against a surge of energy.
An LCD TV is a wise choice. LCD panels are very thin, and take up little space. They use less energy than a conventional or a plasma TV. Moreover, they have a clear, bright, and a long life expectancy of 60,000 hours or more.
