The Sony BDP-S550 1080p Blu-ray is often known as the big brother of the very popular SonyBDP-S350 model. How 'brother', the S550 has all the latest Blu-ray features and a little over $ 70. For starters, it runs in BD 2.0, which is the last and final (at least for now) for Blu-ray.

One of the major differences can be found in the S550 is that it has a 7.1 audio output signal. Some old audio receiver only support analog audio outputs. The S550 is a good buy if you have an older and very expensive receiver only analog audio. Otherwise, the S350 is just good.
