Plasma or LCD? I like both also so my first impression is to buy a plasma because of the low?
price. After I research plasma televisions use more electricity, so if I buy a plasma TV for $ 600 dollars less, and has TV (hours for the whole family) 8 hours per day average. How long will it take (in years) to spend $ 600 on electricity that I saved by not buying the LCD TV. I know you all have opinions about what is best, but I'm doing a cost analysis only for now. Thanks for your help, I'm fairly good at math, but even this is a bit complicated for me.
It depends on how much power uses certain set, and the cost of electricity where you live. I got one at random, a 50 "panasonic plasma – which consumes 497 watts – say 500 for simplicity. electricity where I live is about $ 0.15 per kilowatt hour – that is, the consumption of 1000 watts for 1 hours. Running TV 500 watts for 8 hours is 4,000 watts per hour, or 4 kWh, which costs about $ 0.60 per day. It will take 1000 days, almost 3 years of use in the amount of $ 600 for electricity. And of course, the LCD will use some power – I just could not find a spec quickly.
