Plasma TV mounted on the wall and the rest of the equipment?
Hi, I'm planning to buy a 42 "Panasonic ED plasma display and wall mount it on the fireplace. The question I have is that I should / if I put / on / ride the rest of the equipment, or DVD / Cable Box / VCR, etc. .. There is mantle over the fireplace. So the TV is mounted above the fireplace, but I'm not sure if it would be like the rest of the equipment be placed / connected?
Normally you would a bookcase or cabinet for the equipment. You have to have access to the front and rear of the equipment, sensors and remote control can not be covered with opaque material. It is also important to provide good ventilation for A / V receivers, DVRs, etc. The real problem with wall mount is how to deal with the cables to the TV. Ideally they should go into the wall so they are not visible, but it would take professional installation. You could use a cable channel closed along the wall to hide the wires. In any case, the office equipment must be as close to the TV (next to the fireplace?) Or at least along the same wall.
