Should I buy the Onkyo HTSR600 or HTSR700S?
Comparison of products is available here: There http://onkyousa.com/products_compare.cfm only a few discernible differences between the units, especially the slight variations in power and subwoofer, which in all honesty is not a top issue huge, I just care about good sound. My main sticking point is the color, my current TV is a plasma, 42 "enhanced def Panasonic (purchased before the HD craze). It is silver / metallic in color, closer to the 700S. However, once I get a new job I will probably buy a new TV (looking for some Samsungs lovely though Panasonic has some decent models) that matches. Price is a minor issue, saving $ 20 would be good, but as long as it is no longer $ 300 I really do not care. Do eeny meeny rock, paper scissors, or perhaps even some analytical reasoning to help me decide which is the best bet, please!
You can find 705 to $ 600 network – from J & R, B & H Photo, etc. I did not make a direct comparison between the two, but see them both in systems of my friends. The quality was very much the same – video and audio. But I think the extra HDMI input and more sophisticated Audissey worth $ 200 or less. If your CD player is not up to par, or if you use your iPod or other digital source – consider 805 to about $ 750 – has Burr-Brown DACs.
