What kind of TV is best?
looking for a new 42-inch … I do not know the differences between flat screen, LCD, plasma, etc. out of Samsung, Vizio, Panasonic, Sony, LG, Philips, etc … I need recommendations of the best brands, the best kind, and where to look! thanks

This is offset by the refresh rates 120Hz/240Hz. This feature helps a lot, but not 100%. And you are expected to pay a premium price for this add-on. CCFL LCDs have soft colors, the black ash, and so-so contrast. This is offset with modern LCD LED. The LED backlight provides a huge leap in quality compared to those 3 things. He brings close to a Plasma / CRT / DLP level. But in smaller sets, LCDs are going to choose. So for now, they certainly still fill an important need there. Since the main suffering from burn-in, they are more expensive, they have lower life expectancy, and they are energy hogs. Modern plasmas do not suffer burn-in. Then they are packed, you really have to work hard to achieve a burn-in. For a new set of condition all you need to do is maintain the brightness and contrast is down for the first 100-200 hours of use. After that optimize and enjoy. Not a big fan of big box stores at all, but they have a lot of TV sales. Sometimes you can get a good deal from them. I saw the Panasonic 42 "plasmas on sale during the big selling points (such as Father's Day). Otherwise, go with a wholesale club. Look for a Costco or Sam's Club or something in your area. They have solid prices throughout the year. So you do not have to wait a good sale then.
